Stealing a great idea from Mrs. Blanding's blog I made a silhouette pillow of Miss Sophie....I was so torn on whether to use solid material or this check .....I'm not a plain person.... I love anything checked, striped, plaid and dots!! After agonizing over it for days I finally broke down and asked the daughter her opinion, after all it was being made for the sofa in her music room....Like mother like daughter....she loved the check with the brush trim and I think it came out pretty well if I have to say so myself......

That looks great! You did a beautiful job!
Oh, I love that! Silhouettes are so beautiful and complex, I think.

The check was a perfect choice! It turned out awesome!
It's great! Love it!
I think it came out really great! Love the check! Good job! I haven't tried making a silhouette yet. I'd like to do one of our dog :-)
Manuela
Just beautiful. You are very talented!
Oh, that is adorable!!! It turned out so nicely. :)
Love it! Black and white checks are my favorite and the brush trim and silhouette are wonderful!
Looovveeee the silhouette! LOVE! I think the tiny checks work perfectly. I bought two mini George & Martha Washington silhouettes (how apropos for election day!) a while back and am still trying to find a "home" for them in the house. I want to try and do one of our dog...and a pillow would be great!
And, yes; that really was the Indian from the Village People. :-) He (Felipe Rose) lives in Asbury Park. Isn't that fabulous?!
That's great! So simple and chic, I'll have to check out that blog!
This is fabulous!! I think the material you chose is perfection!
Love,
Sue
I love that! How did you make the silhouette? What is it made of..just black fabric or felt? Did you glue it on or sew it on?
Penny
p.s. you would have loved Savannah and Tybee! No, I didn't eat at Paula Deans.....she is a hoot though isn't she?
I would like to thank everyone for having such nice things to say about the Sophie pillow. I had alot of fun making it and I hope the daughter will enjoy it. Penny asked how I did the silhouette. I had a picture on the computer that I enlarged then printed out. I cut out the head then cut it out of felt. I used fabric glue that sticks on contact and doesn't bleed through the fabric. I used brush fringe to finish it off...
Using the checkered pattern was the perfect decision! I really like making a silhouette pillow. I could picture them looking so classy!
Love this idea! ...need a sewing machine in Germany!
Katie
