WELCOME TO OUR NEW HOME........come on inside....

Last time you heard we were being rejected by
House Hunters.....
They don't know what they missed....
It's been weeks since we moved in but believe it or not the house looked like this
Three Days after we moved in.....
Me and the Boss did not let any grass grow under our feet....
Fifty new pieces of furniture......Five deliveries in two days....
New Neighbors wondering who the Wacky new people are moving into their
Cul de Sac.....
Oh No.....don't tell anyone we're from Jersey.....
We are happy to announce that We are Thrilled with the new Manse.....
Beautiful landscaping......Something we know nothing about.....Making us feel like
We are on vacation with all the sea grass....
So peaceful and beautiful.....with a horse farm leading to the property.....
I think we made a very good choice.....
The Boss has always loved the look of a brick home.....

And then add "Sissy" to the mix.....

Hang an American Flag.......and we are Home....
Come inside and Let me Know what you think.......
I was advised by many to use a Decorator...
But we decided against that.....Letting our Personalities design the house.....
Crazy as it may be.....me and the Boss agree on everything....
It's us.....and I think that's all that matters....
The entrance hall.....
The Boss treated himself to a real Persian rug from 1930......
The oil lamp is a "Family Heirloom"....
Belonging to the MIL....it's from 1890 and was purchased at Macy's NYC....
For a mere $4.50
We didn't plan on using it in the house but I thought it just went perfect in
This spot....

I love how high the ceiling is.....

A birthday gift from me to the Boss.....
It reminded us both of an old French Train Station Clock....

Directly off the Foyer.....
This is the Boss' Library...
All the furnishings came from "Englishman's" in Atlanta.....
All the furniture in this room was made in England...
All the rugs in the house are hand knotted
from India...
I found this adorable little chair and it's one of my favorite pieces....
We sit in here every morning and "discuss"
the days plans....

One whole wall filled with ceiling to floor book shelves....
It is a work in progress.....

Yes....that's right...."The Kramer" from Seinfeld....
Just a little bit of whimsy....
until Daughter arrives and makes us take it down....

Across the hallway is the Dining Room....
We will probably never eat in this room...
But it sure came pretty...
All the furniture is from Crate and Barrel.....
Another fun poster on the wall to bring in a little color....
an adorable red cabinet for some of my Milk Glass...

My dear friend and now ex-next-door-neighbor Necie brought me that
Fabulous milk glass covered butter dish to the right of the Punch Bowl as a House Warming Gift...
Thank you Necie!!

And here is the Mother Load......
The white milk glass looks fabulous against the black background of the
cabinet.....

Right outside the dining room was the perfect spot to hang our
oil painting of "Boo".....
The Boss can see him everyday from the library desk....
The "Hunt Board" also came from England...

We had the stairs carpeted after I decided to break my foot right before
Moving into the house....
It makes life easier climbing the 17 steps with a cast on....

And this is what you see when your coming down those stairs.....
it is from 1870
Every man that came through the house from the delivery men to the Comcast guy
to the Safe mover commented on this chest....
The seat opens so if I ever stop blogging for a long time Please.....somebody
tell authorities to look in the seat....

This is the eating area off the kitchen.....I am planning on having
Balloon Shades made for the Bay Window....
Yes Yes.....I know they are out of style but who cares!!

The Great Room....
Furniture from Pottery Barn....

A view from the Keeping Room....

I broke down and bought the pillows from Pottery Barn....
I love the colors and the embroidery...

The Boss' old rocker....Just waiting for Miss "B" to visit...

My new obsession....
Globes.

Finally.....a Kitchen I can cook in...
Not a fan of Sub-Zero fridges....This one is a side by side...and is very user friendly....

The island is huge and will get a Pot Rack to hang over it as soon as I find just the
right one.....
The ceiling in this room is all painted wood slats....
The island base is painted a light green....

The view out one of the windows....
Nothing but green...
And my neighbor's
beautiful weathered gray shingled house.....
Another reason that I feel like we are on Martha's Vineyard...

The previous Homeowner really never did use the Wolf Stove.....
I went to bake bread one day and the oven was dead...
It seems it was shipped that way from the factory....
Wires inside had never been attached....
Wolf came right out and fixed the problem...
cute Rooster rug came from the Daughter....

The Boss treated me to all new Copper Core All-Clad pots....like the double-boiler
on the back burner....
He also got me the beautiful
Ruffoni hammered stainless pot with Sterling Silver fruit on the lid....
He knows who cooks for him.....

Every cook needs a Pantry.....
Mine just happened to come in the form of it's own room....

There is a space for everything....

And last but not least.......atleast on the first floor....
is my favorite new aplliances....
My Red Maytag washer and dryer.....
Made in the USA.....
and in my signature color....
it makes laundry day a pleasure.....

I hope you enjoyed the little house tour.....
But this was just the first floor....

As soon as I hang some more pictures and find an adequate comforter or bedspread that
will fit the ridiculus 3 feet tall King size bed that
the Boss had to have I will show you the second floor....
And if anyone out there knows where I can find said quilt or comforter please let
me know....
Everything I bring home is not long enough on the sides to hide the mattress and
box spring....
Oh and it's so high that I actually had to buy one of those step stools so I can
get into bed at night.....
