THE SANTAMAKER.........let the journey begin!!

I had the Pleasure yesterday to visit the home of the One and Only
SANTAMAKER....
For those of you who might not know who that is.....It would be
Rose.....from the blog "A Santamaker's Journey"
I recently posted a few pictures of Rose's beautiful Santa's when I saw them for the first time
at Scott's Antique Market here in Atlanta....
I was in Awe of these gorgeous creations that are all homemade by our good friend
Rose....
So when she extended an invitation to her home to see it in all it's Christmas
Finerary.....Well....Nothing would have kept me away....
Not Much commentary on this post....
The pictures speak for themselves....
Her talent goes beyond her Santa's....
She is the most creative person I have ever known...Her decorating skills are worthy of
and HGTV series....There is nothing Rose Cannot do....
So without further adieu.....
Have a seat and Enjoy
Pure Eye Candy......Rose Style
Too Cute....
This Hutch was magnificent....the picture doesn't do justice to it's massive size....
Rose painted it black and distressed it after moving into the house and finding that it
actually was a built in piece....
The above window was found at our local "Classy Flea"....she painted that to
match the hutch...and to add further height to a very tall wall...
I thought this was so clever....the half teapot and cup are mounted right on the wall...

My purse was not big enough to stash this inside....or today Rose would have been
wondering where it went...
My favorite decorating touch in the entire house....
She decoupaged the chair to match the plates..

One of dozens of Rose's handmade...hand painted Santa's....
They were everywhere!!

Did I mention she can also upholster furniture...

The Christmas tree was filled with.....Ofcourse.....Santa's!
Chair Bling....

Ofcourse there were Santa Plates....
The Kitchen range hood was even festively adorned...

Blue china was everywhere as well....
A mantel adorned with "Triplets"

In the Hallway....

I hope you enjoyed this little tour of the
SantaMakers Home...
Thank You Rose for your hospitality and for sharing your love of
Christmas with us!!
Happy Holidays!

Popular New York Socialite gets Arrested........

This is only second hand information as I was home on my couch this past Tuesday
But while our local Bloggers were touring the Governor's Mansion
There was a little incident concerning some Brash New Yawker trying to Steal
the Governor's Cookie Recipes....
Some people you just can't take anywhere...In the process of being "Cuffed" by this burly gentleman the other ladies
started snapping their trusty cameras
because we all know that Bloggers never leave home without their
Cameras....
Oh look who it is.....
My friend and fellow Northerner
Keeping a low profile since she stopped blogging a few months ago......
We're all surprised that she's allowed to leave the house...
The Original "Miss Flour Power"
has more fun then Ten Bloggers combined....
Here she is about 2 weeks ago strolling the aisles of IKEA looking somewhat
like a normal shopper....
This was moments after she got into an altercation with some jerk who tried to run into her car out in the parking lot.....He was coming "in the out" at a high rate of speed
AND he was on his Cell Phone when he almost hit Joyce's Car....
Not happy with this.....she pulled up along side him when he got out of the car and
Gave him a bit of that Great New York Attitude....
Upon entering the store he stopped her again by the
Hot Dog concession....
Did I mention this guy was a real jerk....
The kind that you say...."There is no way anybody is married to this guy"
More words were exchanged and he threatened to
have HER arrested for disorderly conduct......
You would have all been so proud....As she held her own against this
Bully....
I was proud to call her my Friend right there between the bags of chips and the
Frozen Swedish Meatballs....
Don't you just love when a women stands up for herself....
Not one to be deterred by a little fight.....
She was later seen trying on Lampshades as hats.....

Her she is suggesting she buy these soccer balls to put inside the back of
a pair of sweatpants for an upcoming trip to Vegas....
You know for when TSA body searched her...
They almost made it up underneath her sweater as "Faux Boobs" until we both realized at the
Same time that IKEA might think she was trying to
well......conceal them.

I can't say that I have ever been out with Joyce when she doesn't make me laugh
from the minute we see each other until the day ends....
We are both two crazy 60 year olds....
Doing what we do best...
Just having Fun...
I like to think of us as "The Two Lucys"..
Sorry I missed out on the arrest....
And believe me the above picture describes her to a tee!!

SMALL TOWN THEATRE..............better then Broadway!

Sundays during Football Season are like my own
"Little Vacations"....
As long as the Boss is left food I can pretty much go away for hours
without him even knowing I am gone....So this past Sunday I did just that.....
After reading in our local paper that the Musical
"42nd. Street"
would be playing at the newly refurbished Strand Theatre on
The Marietta Square
I secured myself one really good seat....
3rd. Row Seat one!!
I had not paid much attention since they opened the old movie theatre awhile back
But I am quite fond of music from the 30's and 40's so I was very excited to
see this play......
And after last years Fiasco on Broadway of the Revival of
Ragtime....
I figure how bad could it be.....
A very Chilly 30 degree Sunday.....I wandered around the Square
before making my way inside the theatre....

with a very small town feel....Marietta is actually huge compared to our
Hometown back in the Motherland....
I think we have 7 or 8 High Schools at last count....
This beautiful Square is actually inside the city limits......

Inside the Strand there is art work from local artists everywhere you look....
I was surprised how lovely it was....
Much nicer then the Neil Simon Theatre in Manhattan...
Where you might remember it as being the scene of last years crime
When I snuck a photo of the final curtain call and was almost
ousted out by the
"Usher Police"

The place was packed with a varied assortment of Locals....
Young.....Old.....Men and Women....a few children...
Every seat was filled...
Being a Huge fan of Tap Dancing....
I sat in awe of these performers...
There had to have been 25 or so people in the cast and a more talented bunch of
Folks you would not want to meet....
The "star" of the show.....that tiny little thing in the blue dress was the
most amazing dancer I have ever seen.....Anywhere!!
Casey Leigh Thompson is her name
and she could sing..... she could act and Boy could she dance....
The Playbill showed that she has been in all sorts of musicals including
Legally Blond on Broadway....

But after reading through everyone's Bio it appears they are local performers and others who travel all over the country to perform
doing all sorts of theatre.... One of the chorus members is a local high school student.....
But
Miss Thompson is destined to be a Broadway Star.....

So next time your thinking of going to Local Live Theatre but wonder if it will be just
"SoSo".....
Think again......This play was by far as good if not better then plays I have seen on
Broadway....

If you are in the Atlanta area "42nd. Street" is Playing through
December 19th.....
and is being presented by
The Atlanta Lyric Theatre

It was the best 2 1/2 hours I have spent in a very long time!
