WHAT'S NEW ON TARPLEY PLACE...........we really aren't crazy Honest.

OMG......
The Adivari's Have really lost their minds.....
Did they get Another Dog.....?
They Swore they Would not get another Dog.....
EVER AGAIN......

Sometimes You just can't resist something new in your home....
A Companion....
Someone who won't talk back to you...
Someone to listen to you Vent when needed....

Forget about the Up Keep......The Vet bills....the FOOD.....We like Big Animals....
They Happen to Eat A lot.......

So we thought long and hard about it and figured What the Hay......
What's One More.....

Stuffed Head in the House....
And Being a Big Fan of "Americana"......
We now own an authentic
American Buffalo Head.....
technically Half a head as the Boss claims the whole head would be Huge and not
Practical....
Sure....Like Half a Head is Practical....

It's just Plain Ugly.....
I still can't figure out if the Nose is Real.....
Creepy to think about....
Found at Scott's Antique Market here in Atlanta.....The Boss loved it....
The Daughter thought it was cool and Miss B......Well she gave it a big
Thumbs Up......so I was out voted this time....

Side view......it's right at home with our other family members....
We will soon bring over the Moose from the old house....
He will reside in the entrance Hall...

Something else happening over at Tarpley Place.....
A Lot of baking going on....
Joyce stopped by for lunch today and I made an Italian Ricotta Cheesecake....
The prettiness of the Flowers is to counter-balance the
Ugliness of the Buffalo...

A Dismantled Mantle after the holidays.....
Just a few of my globes....
And my favorite Deer Head....
Such beautiful Halo shaped Antlers.....
These are NOT the Boss'....
The Deer Heads and the Moose are mine.....I hate to Admit that..... :)

In the Boss' Library....a limited Edition photo of
Steve McQueen...
From the Ralph Lauren Collection of Famous People Photos....

Taken on the Set of the "Thomas Crown Affair".....
I believe this print is #15.....out of maybe 200...
Don't even ask what the Boss paid for it....
But he's a Big Fan....

More new things around the House....
These beautiful Acorn Andirons.....
We installed gas logs in our three fireplaces.....what a fabulous invention....
They look real....including embers....they throw a nice amount of heat....
And No clean up!!!

And then last week we came across these lamps at
Progressive Lighting....
Pine Cones!!!
They match the Andirons....
and a real bargain at 50% off....
We bought One and when we heard they were half off until Saturday
We picked up a second.....We Love a good Bargain....

Okay....THIS IS NOT MY HOUSE.....
This is the Ralph Lauren Shop at Lenox Square Mall
Here in Atlanta....
If I could come back in another life as a Man it would be
Ralph Lauren.....
I adore anything he designs.......

So I am stealing his idea.....filling a wall up my staircase with
Photo's.......Oil Paintings....all sizes.....black frames....gold frames....
I love it!!
This will be a work in progress for years.....off to a slow start....
The wall opposite this one it actually larger and higher so
That one will be done as well....
Daughter always finds the wackiest paintings at flea markets and sales....
I'm hoping I will have luck finding some as well....

Love My Globes....

The post card pillow....a gift from Daughter....
The house has a bit of a travel theme going on so this pillow fit in perfectly....
She always buys me the Best Stuff....
Thanks H.

In a back corner of my Family Room......I used this Old tea cart when I had my
Blog Brunch to hold party favors....
I decided to keep it there full time...
It was my Mother in Laws....
it will sit there until I find something else for it's place...

Joyce brought me these beautiful tulips and they look so nice on my coffee table
That I think I will treat myself every week to a bunch....
A Fire.....and Spring Flowers....in the same room...
A mix of warmth and cool....

And I'm sure we are the talk of the neighborhood.....
Who are these crazy people that have moved into our quiet neighborhood??
Bringing in Animal Heads.....loud cars....

And the Husband riding around town with some un-named Blond......
And that's what's New on Tarpley Place!!

WHEN BLOGGER "GRANDS" MEET.......Joyce and Sue go to a Puppet Show.

When Ex-Blogger "Flour Power" Joyce heard my girls were coming to town
She suggested we take the Grands to
The Atlanta Center For Puppetry Arts...
Telling me ahead of time it would be a Bore-Fest we thought it was time
the kids met....
Miss B and Mr. Vunderpants are close in age so we thought they would have fun
Together...
In Typical Joyce and Sue fashion there were signs every where telling you
"No Photography"
Ofcourse that didn't stop us.....Sophie was mad that she was standing in front of her
Favorite Muppet Rolf the Dog....
And poor Finley was dressed by his father and looked like he was missing a hand
and his shirt was mis-buttoned....
But Come On.....how cute are these two...

The Puppet Show was "The Gingerbread Man" and Joyce dozed off twice and both
her and daughter got yelled at by the House Bouncers for trying to feed the kids snacks
during the performance....

The tickets included making a puppet after the show was over...

Here are Joyce and Finley getting ready to master puppet making....

And here is Daughter with her Two Ivy League degrees trying to figure out
Why the Gingerbread Man has three legs.....

As you can see the project was for adults.....the kids watched as the two ladies
assembled....

Who knew this would be complicated???
Luckily I was just the photographer...

And here is the difference between girls and boys....
Sophie sees a camera and automatically smiles.....

Finley was just Bored....

But as you can see Joyce was having Fun...
And we found out why the Gingerbread Man had three legs.....

So He Could Run Run Run.....

At this point the kids still hadn't said much to each other.....

Here we are at "Flip Burger" in Atlanta.....Top Chef's
Richard Blaise's Burger Place....
Still No Talking....

BUT......then we went to our all time favorite place for two grown women to
Mis-Behave....
IKEA!!
Where the kids went crazy in the kids department running around like
Maniacs.....While we sat and watched....
They finally clicked and had the best time causing a Ruckus.....
Ofcourse with every trip to Ikea we have to make idiots out of
Ourselves by trying on all the crazy hats.....
And Didn't we Love seeing the Future Bloggers
Following in Their Grandmother's Foot Steps!

FOOTBALL SUNDAY..........This One is For the Guys.

I Just brought this Tray of Snacks up to the
Boss....
It consists of.....
One full bag of Puff Corn.....whatever that is....
one bowl for Puff Corn....One napkin so Puff Corn doesn't "orange" the Boss' hands....
one full ice bucket....including tongs....so Boss' hands don't get wet.
One container of Pistachio nuts....partially eaten....And a Cup for
Shells....
And last but not least the miniature bottle of Coke Zero because the Boss is on a Diet...
I call this Tray the.....

"I'm going out shopping for the day while you watch nonsense and I don't want to be
Bothered for the rest of the day with food requests....
Ice refills....or to empty your "shell" bowl.....
So call me when the Games are over because I will be downstairs watching I'm
Sure some sort of Housewives Marathon on Bravo and unlike Men
I am very happy to be watching it on a 22" screen that won't
Blind Me"
Enjoy the Game...

PRISCILLA......QUEEN OF THE DESERT.......Honest I had no idea.

This is one of those posts that's more text then photos.....
This is one of those
"Only can happen to Sue" moments.....If you have the patience to read it all it has a great
Ending....
When daughter knew I would be visiting New York she asked if there was any play I might
like to see....She's very thoughtful....
Not a big fan of crowded theaters and being "One of THOSE people" that has to have
an end seat no matter where I go....
I thought "Sue.....don't be a Buzz Kill....think of something you might like to see and
Happily go and enjoy yourself".......
SO I suggested a musical called
"Priscilla.....Queen of the Desert"
You know you're
Getting Old when you can't put two and two together....
All I knew of the play was Disco music and fabulous costumes....
The fact that Bette Midler is the producer and "Queen" is in the title went right over my
head....
Daughter buys tickets in the 3rd Row.......end seat for me....Thank you very much!!
I didn't know she bought three tickets.....Me...Her.....Miss B....

Here is "B" preparing to go to the show......I have no picture of her Get-Up after she
was done dressing BUT......it included...
Black patent leather combat boots with big plaid bows....
a red velvet Bolero jacket over this adorable dress...
those Big Pearls....
and a Big black Feather in her hair....
That hat was mine......at the Theater she got at the gift counter a
Big Pink Feather Boa......

We go to the theater and find our seats.....Fabulous seats....Daughter did good....
Sophie is in her Booster seat that the theater provided...she gets excited looking up and seeing a Big Disco ball hanging from the ceiling......
The Lights go down.....then flashing lights go on and music starts playing and the curtain opens...And there it is.......A Transvestite Musical....
That's right......A Whole lot of Men dressed in skimpy glittery costumes......
Most in sparkly G-Strings.....
AND WE ABOUT DIED.......
The two women in front of us turned around and said....
"Grandma, you had no idea what this play was about did you?".......
Me and daughter are humiliated that we have a four year old looking at half naked men....
And might I add......these guys were Toned.....I mean I have never seen so many
Good Looking Butts in my 61 years......
Costumes......Unbelievable......3 Over-weight Women kept being lowered on wires from the ceiling
to sing songs such as...
"It's Raining Men"
It was Fabulous.....but we decided at intermission we would leave.....thinking it was not appropriate for B to be seeing.....
Intermission comes and we tell her we are leaving and she says to me....Very Serious...
"You two can go....I'm staying to see the second half".....
That's My Girl!!!

Curtain goes up......the whole cast comes out on stage.....Alot of people maybe 30-40
Big Theater Right on Broadway......two balconies...Hundreds of people in the audience....
They start singing and dancing and then they come down into the audience and
OFCOURSE.....
They pick Miss B to go up onto the stage.....
How could they resist.... she was dressed like one of the cast.....
When that child hit that stage in Boa and hair feathers...and let's not forget the combat boots...
That crowd went wild.....Now they were a crazy bunch to begin with but they started cheering and Hooting and hollering.....Me and daughter just looked at each other and
we were speechless....
Our Beloved Miss B On Broadway.......
What Happens...... Grandma.......the idiot....who always carries a camera
Does Not take a picture....I have no idea why.....shocked I guess....
She dances around the stage with one of the cast members and then waves to the
Crowd before coming back down the stairs.....

We recommend this play Highly....it was pure entertainment.....
Who doesn't love Disco Music and good looking men.....
Worth what ever the daughter paid for the tickets....
It was certainly a sight that I will have burned into my memory for a very long time....
Will I do a little research next time when asked what I would like to see....

Nah......would take the fun out of it...

Here's a Quick clip of the cast at this years Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.....
I figure if it was tame enough for a Parade
It was perfectly fine for a four year old....
