PAINTED FURNITURE.......an Arm or a Leg?

I love any kind of painted furniture.....
Not talented enough to take an old dresser or table or chair and with some primer and a can
of paint turn something into a painted work of art.....
No......I just go shopping....
And although I love all different colors......yellow.....blue....green....
My color of choice is Red....
Or as we call it "My Signature Color"....... But painted furniture comes with a hefty price tag......
Like this adorable red 3 drawer dresser offered up at
For a mere....
$1990.00
Yes..........you read that right....$1990.00 but available in a slew of colors.....
Only I didn't need a slew to choice from I just needed a red one!
What do you think.....?
This is cute Yes?
No work for me.....no painting or priming.....no waiting for paint to dry.....
The Boss put this thing together in about an hour and the inside drawers have the cutest
yellow striped wallpaper.....
Solid Pine.....
Are you getting interested??

$149.00
IKEA..................................
You gotta love the IKEA!!!
And I actually love the color of mine better then the one that I would have had to
mortgage the house to buy.....
And I bet the Boss would have still had
"some assembly required'
My house is very casual....
I love all things beachy even though we live way far from the ocean.,...
Lobsters are a favorite and that rug you saw in the above
picture is from
another bargain
$24.99
So....what is your favorite type of furniture or
decorating style?
Do you ever see something you would love to have then go about
finding it for way less.....
Some people don't give enough credit to shopping at IKEA
I can't imagine shopping anywhere else....
Think of all the money I saved and how many
Swedish Meatballs and Ligonberry sauce that will buy!!

Your chest is just perfect. I love it and the red is perfect. I can't imagine paying almost $2000 for a painted piece, but then my budget wouldn't allow that anyway. Great find. Hugs, Marty

I have seen those and they look fabulous to me, especially for the price!! I don't have anyone to put it together for me. Oh well.

I would love to shop at IKEA but I get lost in that store!

I can imagine living is some of the display rooms though. Just like Where the Heart Is.

Oh, and those warm cinnamon buns whose aroma hits you as you check out.

Just can't take the Jersey girl out of you!

The chest of drawers that you got at Ikea is just as cute at 1/10th the price of the other! Good shopping Sue, and you KNOW I love the color:>)

How cute it looks decorated with all the lobster/beach items. I bought the kids the white triple dresser and also the end tables at Ikea and it looks great in their condo. When my son was in law school I decorated his entire apartment with Ikea furnishings. When I say garage sale hubby moans and says just go to Ikea for new. Oh and I hope you had a hot dog on your way out at the refreshment stand:)

We just went to Ikea and I noticed they had quite a lot of red furniture (and gray)! I love Ikea. I know some people question their quality but I've never had a problem with anything.

My goodness, for less than $1,900 you could have bought an antique and hired a professional to paint it red! We don't have an Ikea and I like to look at furniture rather than order it unseen, so I've never shopped there. My daughter in NYC pretty much furnished her entire apartment at Ikea though and she's been very pleased.

I knew you wouldn't spend 2 G on a dresser..!!
It is really nice!
I have only been there twice..I loved it but I get claustrophobic in the one on LI...no windows.
I am due for a revisit...if the weather ever gets better,,It is snowing again, more Fri and then Tues. Not happy about all this global warming..:)

I went to Ikea a couple of weeks ago for the first time in a long while and I was pleasantly surprised by a lot of the stuff they had. Really quite nice...and I even think we'll be buying a bathroom sink there (for just 90 bucks!).

I never have the guts to paint over furniture but I always like it when I see it in other houses. I think I'd rather buy it pre-painted as you did so I'm not forced to make a decision!
