SPRING BREAK IN NYC...........the good the bad and the parking ticket....

My week in NYC started out with a
Fashion Show....
Sophie is seen here channeling Roy Orbison......
she always has on sunglasses....

Me and B went to the I-Hop out in Jersey......
The waitress was shocked that "B" actually ate
all of the pancake.....with a side of bacon...
She commented that kids never eat what they order...
A shining testimonial to the I-Hop food...
back in the city it was Bunny cake making.....
I tried my hand at dying shelled eggs.....
the color came good and who doesn't love a good
deviled egg....but I was a little heavy handed
with the paprika...
I don't know what I was thinking.....
"B" spent Easter with her father so me and
daughter hogged the Bunny at Brunch at
Brasserie 8 1/2......
A sampling of the dessert buffet......
the lemon tart was a winner....everything else....
not very good....
They did have a wide array of food....but in typical
"this always happens to us"....the place was maybe
1/4 filled when we arrived and they took us to the farthest
point in the dining room...way in the back of the room.....
next to the kitchen door...Not happening....
After I fussed they moved us up 4 booths closer....
You wonder what goes through people's minds when they
do things like that...
Then there was Ringling Brothers.......
basically now a "One Ring" circus....
at one point the only thing going on down on
the floor were 2 gay men and a rabbit....
they built a whole act around that.....
the second half livened up a bit with
all the tigers.....
I was surprised PETA wasn't protesting outside...
How do they really get those tigers to do tricks?
And this is always a site to see....
It's always a show stopper....
"B" with her stuffed animal stash....
What??? she's an only child....she's spoiled....
You can never have too many stuffed up toys....
Courtesy of Grandpa who even spoils from
afar.....

Must be the Brooklyn Bridge....
Left home one night on my own I decided to keep
busy by re-arranging daughters furniture....

the bookcases were already in place....I added the
Eiffel Tower to the table....

By moving the sofa against the radiator it now
showcases the beautiful rug.....

what a difference it makes by simply
re-arranging furniture placement...
The room now looks twice as large....
I tried to convince daughter to paint that
big round column back by the windows a light
Aqua to match the color in the rug....
A few more days there and I would have done it myself...
I think the room needs a little "pop" of color....

Regal "Miss Kitty".....
The sweetest cat around....
she loves sitting in this chair.....
Well on my last day in the city.....I took out the car and
I did legally park in a parking garage to take "B"
to Toy R Us at Times Square....I paid a hefty $35.00
for 2 hours....But then we had to make a pit stop
at Mom's office on 50th Street.....
Driving down the street I spy a very tiny spot right next
to one of those "Muni Meters" where you pay first
and leave the ticket on the dash....The Bug squeezed into
the space with only inches to spare...there were normal
cars parked in front and in back of the space...
I bought my hour of parking and put the receipt on the
dash....
I hung my handicap tag from the mirror....
I even asked the security guard from the
Time Building if it was legal to park there...
to which he said...."Yes".....
Liar in a uniform.....
I came out 1/2 hour later to find a ticket....
$115.00 ticket....
it seems about 5 car lengths ahead of where I was parked was
a sign that said "commercial vehicles only"
You could have fooled me as there was a White Camaro
parked a few spots ahead and there was no ticket on that
car....
Yes....I will appeal it....I mean it's a car with out of state
plates.....it's a handicapped person who paid
the required fee.....I wasn't taking up the space for another
Commercial Vehicle unless a "Smart Car" came along....
Plus if you read my last post.....
"I am Special".......
And lastly here is "B" trying to box herself up
and be Fedex'ed back to Georgia....
I don't think I would like jail so I'll have to wait a
few weeks until she comes down the legal way
By Airplane with her mother....
I miss you girls!!!!

Miss B is getting so big! She looks adorable in all your photos and it looks like she is thriving in NYC. Your bunny cake is cute!

That bridge.in your photo is the Manhattan Bridge, not the Brooklyn Bridge...they are pretty close to each other.

Sad about that ticket....parking in NYC is tough and expensive..tbat is why I always took a bus subway or cab...it was just easier!

Always an adventure! Glad you survived with only a parking ticket. It sounds brutal out there. Miss B just gets cuter and cuter. Sally

What can I say Sue, you always have an adventure to tell and I would definitely appeal that parking ticket...not that I am trying to sway you one way or the other...just saying.

So your girls are coming to see you and The Boss? That ought to be fun.

Sue it sounds like fun despite the parking ticket! Miss B is growing up so fast! I know you will be so happy to have your girls visit soon!

Despite the ticket, looks like you guys had a blast!

Love seeing Miss B and loved seeing your daughter's apartment. What a great place! The pic of you two with the Easter Bunny was fun, too.

Appeal the ticket. That's rotten.

XO,

Sheila

Well, all in all I would say you had a great time in the Bit City, with one little thorn in the side. Fight that ticket! Your grand daughter is so adorable. xo

I'm glad you had a good time with your sweet girls - what a terrible hassle there is with parking in NYC!

Glad you had a good time in NYC. Your daughter's apartment is beautiful. About that ticket - I always thought that with a handicapped sticker, you could park anywhere, at least that's what someone told me. I'd fight it.

Everything but the parking ticket sounds like you had a wonderful time!

Alright then you had a heck of a nice time there - Miss B is adorable. She looks like you so much. The family traits are strong! I love your daughters home. I hope you win that ticket - that is so dumb! I love the Easter cake and Easter eggs.
Love, sandie

Miss B must have learned the box trick from the cat.

CUTE picture!

Sympathies on the parking ticket!

Sorry about the ticket, Sue. Despite that it sounds like you had a grand time in the city. I love NYC but sadly haven't been there in years. Miss B is growing up to be a beautiful young lady. Goodness, where does the time go. Leaving for Paris in a week. Yay!

Just got home from NYC myself! Your daughter's apartment is lovely... beautiful, beautiful rugs! ...but don't paint that column. For that POP of color, buy her a gorgeous turquoise pillow for her pretty white couch. We have a Miss Kitty too... age 18, sitting on the arm of my chair and quite happy to see me return! I had as much fun as you did but luckily I didn't get a ticket because I didn't drive... poor Sue! they were gunning for you b/c of your last post, I think! Do you really want to raise your BP by fighting it??? THEY always win:-(
