I am a Huge Bob Vila fan...have watched him since the very first TOH....When husband was in the home improvement business there was a big Home Show here in Atlanta for the trade....Well you know I had to horn in on the fun...Especially when I heard Bob would be there....He was very gracious to everyone asking for his picture...just a regular nice guy....I'm only sorry I look pale as a ghost in the picture....it must have been the flash!!
I'm going to totally agree with you on that one.......This Old House was the very first "fix it" show I ever watched. I couldn't wait to get home from work on Saturdays to put my feet up and watch. I didn't have a VCR.... so it meant a really zippy drive home! Bwob (you know, that's how Nom says it).. :-) is my HERO.
Bob Villa is the guy that started it all, there would be no HGTV if he didn't pave the way...what's it like to be his wife---remodeling job that probably never get done!
Haven't been by here in a while. So I'm trying to get around to catching up on some of my peeps blogs. I hope you are having a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.
Sue, The comment you left about your husband's thoughts on bloggers had me laughing. My husband along with my entire family refer to my "imaginary" friends when I mention the word blog.
I met him once at the home show...and the other guy from This Old House...what was his name...can't remember now to save me. They were both really nice...it was soooo many years ago. Great pic of you! :-) Susan
I LOVE Bob Villa! Now, where, when and what did you say/he say! Details dearie! Details! Like you I too think a man like Bob should be an *idol* Forget crooning, just bulid me something! I also used to say that I would take Norm Abrams over most celebrities! heck, Norm could have built me a whole house! : )
Hmm...I wonder if Brian is good with a hammer...a saw??
I know I needed to email you...I will soon but Mom is doing better. She has bad days of course but is feeling better. You are so sweet to ask. I was surely scared...*sigh*
70ish Mom of a 45 year old lady lawyer, grams to an adorable 13 year old granddaughter better known as Miss "B"...New Grams to 3 year old Jack Horowitz. He's not fond of Grandma as he is always giving me the raspberries, but adores the Boss.....he's the worlds happiest Toddler. Wife of 50 years to the Boss and he has me spending most of my waking hours at the kitchen stove. We live for our next meal..I love to cook and I'm now into bread baking. I also love my bright red V.W. bug convertible.(my 7th one) I think it's the cutest car ever built! Originally from New Jersey I constantly complain about living in the South...Hey, there's no good pizza here!! And then there is my wacky blog name....Well it comes from the summer I spent in Paris with daughter...The Rue Mouffetard is the famous street where it's all about food...every kind of food is sold there that you can imagine....I shopped there everyday for all our meals...It was heaven!! We have lived in Georgia for 35 years but will always be a "Jersey Girl"...

hehe it's true...a good deck trumps a serenade any day! How cool to meet him!
Awesome! Yeah, I'd rather have a guy who could build a deck.

Whoops! I just saw the comment you left with details!! : )
Bob trumps crappy simgers any day in my book (though in fairness I've never watched American Idol so not sure "crappy" isn't a bit much...)
