see what I was doing....
He was whistling which wasn't unusual since we are a big family of
Whistlers.....
It's what he was whistling that kinda surprised me.....
So I asked him if he realized what the tune was......
He said "Ofcourse....it's our wedding song"....
As I am today....
Instead of the traditional wedding march I came down the aisle to
Irving Berlin's 1926 Classic song "Always".....
From my favorite movie of all time
"Since You Went Away"
The organist also played the song "Together"
from the same movie....
For those of you who are not familiar with "Always" here are the
Lyrics.....
I'll be loving you Always
With a Love that's True Always......
When the things You Plan...Need a helping Hand....
I will Understand....Always....Always....
Days may not be Fair Always....
That's when I'll be There Always....
Not for just an Hour...
Not for just a Day....
Not for just a Year....
But Always...
It's nice to know that after 40 years.....the Boss may not know the words...
But he still knows the Tune....
Happy Anniversary Boss....
Lyrics.....
I'll be loving you Always
With a Love that's True Always......
When the things You Plan...Need a helping Hand....
I will Understand....Always....Always....

Happy Anniversary Boss....

Happy Anniversary! I so "get it". We were married on the bank of the river in Alva, FL and when we were "remarrried" (God bless us all) we played Jim Croce's Time In A Bottle...lol...the priest about had a heart attack. Hugs and enjoy your day- Diana
"Since You Went Away" on Million Dollar Movie Played over and over, and I cried every time!!!

What a great wedding it must have been! 40yrs. where does the time go?? I was married in 1973 and can't believe how fast it has gone by. You are so blessed to still be together.Happy Anniversary!
Hugs,
Donna
Awww, Happy Anniversary to you both!
Happy Anniversary, Sue!
Same year as us, same style wedding dress, the puffy sleeves! My bridesmaids wore the hats, and I walked down the aisle alone. My dad had died, and no one could take his place. A little unusual then, but what I wanted.
Many more happy ones!
Ohhhh, that is so sweet, it brought tears to my eyes! You were such a darling bride! So sweet that he was whistling it! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! :D
Happy Anniversary to you and the Boss. We will celebrate our 40th December 27.
How sweet...Happy Anniversary to you and the Boss!! Many more happy years!
Happy anniversary to you both! You were such a cute young couple. I love the unconventional music... makes your ceremony personal. But tsk, tsk, it wouldn't have been allowed in our recent wedding.. The Wedding Song by Peter, Paul, and Mary got the ax in the prelude. So did the kiss at the altar, but they took one step off and kissed anyway. Makes for a funny memory!
Happy 40th to you and The Boss!
Love the dress Sue; it reminds me of the dress I had in 1973! I so wanted to go without the veil, but alas, my mother insisted!
Happy Anniversary always...
♥ Hope you had a wonderful anniversary, Sue!♥
I had "folk singers" singing at my wedding ...doesn't that sound old? They sang Peter Paul and Mary's "The Wedding Song" among a few other tumes during the ceremony.
Happy Anniversary! love the pic...those were the days...
your trip to NJ looked fab too! Jennifer...call next time!
What a beautiful bride and groom.
Beautiful song. And how sweet that hubby knows the tune - that's important you know.
Happy Anniversary.
Sandie with love.
Sue,
I hope you and the boss enjoyed your anniversary. Forty years is quite an achievement. What a romantic song. You were a beautiful bride. I wish you continued 'always'
