WORLD'S OLDEST LIVING GREAT PYRENEES.......Happy Birthday Boo!!

Okay....so he's really not the World's Oldest Living Great Pyrenees....
I don't want to get comments from Pyrenees lovers around the country that I'm lying....
But our Boo turned 12 today
And we swear that he's aging backwards.....
You know like Benjamin Button...Even our Vet and Dear Mr. Roper over at the Kennel are amazed
At how good he looks...
Clear eyes....great hearing...beautiful fur....Just a tad bit of arthritis...
He is 2 years past the life expectancy for a dog his size....
And he's doing so well....
Infact.....you can see for yourself...
These top two pictures were taken a few weeks ago....
So on his birthday like every year in the past Boo gets cupcakes....

Not sure he wants to turn 12.....

But I'll let him tell you all about his celebration....
Oh...one more thing..he refuses to wear a party hat....
He said Manly dogs don't wear party hats...

"Okay.....Dad is behind the lens....Maybe it's that time of year again when
"those people" feed me cake... "

"Wait....I see fire?"

"This Fat Chick could be trying to trick me....it could be poison"...

"No.....it's safe....she appears to be eating the wax fire thingie"......

"Nope...she's just licking the blue sugar stuff....Hope she leaves some for
Me"....

"Oh that's Gooooooooooood.....lucky I have such a big tongue"

"I learned 12 years ago never to bite the hand that feeds you"......

"Thank You for all your birthday wishes.....Mom really likes you people and I'm sure she
Will read me all your comments...."
"See you next year when I will either be 13 or 11"..........

  5. Awwwwww, Boo! Violette and Willow send their regards and wish they could celebrate with you. But no Frosty Paws ice cream with those cupcakes? And what about a steak? I think you really need to put your paw down and demand better treatment!!

  13. thanks for commenting on my blog. I get the tired and tried thing, too. I agree that Jersey has the worst taxes, worst government, and worst drivers. But other than that...it's great.
Two things....I'm going to Paris for the first time in April and I'm going to see Eat Pray Love tonight. Hmmm....which will I enjoy more?
    thanks,

  14. Boo- tell your mama to give ya a big hug and a smooch from me, ya big hairy galoot!!
And don't forget to say that I don't take nuts with me- I'd choke, too. I have a purse full of chocolates and twizzlers, and my bottle of Coke to take with me on Wed. for the matinee. I'm all for "qualifying" for the senior discount since they never question Mr. S's silver hair and who else but oldies would be going to an afternoon movie? (It's our day off!) *grin*
    hugs, Sue

  20. And I've got too much time on my hands? LOL
Scout built his own Saturn Booster and "the girls" (siamese cats) sewed his space suit. I had nothing to do with it. I just report what happens!

Happy Birthday to Boo! He is beautiful. Glad he is in good health. Perhaps there's a place for him on the flight crew. Buster will be 14 on Oct 31st!

    Your Friend,
    Deborah

  24. We also have a Great Pyrenees that is now 12 1/2 years old! I was wondering if that was some sort of record?! Her name is Swan Lake, and she's been a very healthy dog. Only recently she's started having issues with her hips. How is Boo doing these days?

  25. We have a Pyr who is 12 1/2 years old, too! I was wondering if that was some sort of record! Swan Lake has been very healthy, with only having hip issues in the last few months. How is Boo doing?

  27. Would you mind telling me what you feed him? Or anyone else with an older one. I have a 10 month old male and a 3 month old female and I'm already so in love with them I don't want to consider losing them. People have been warning me about their SHORT lives so naturally I'm looking for all ways to extend theirs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. By the way, happy birthday Boo...you're my hope.

  30. Wow... What a beautiful dog. My grandfather had one named Rosie, she lived around 18 years. I absolutely promise! She lived on a rural farm and wasnt even really cared for the way i feel a dog should be cared for. He was lax in flea and heartworm preventative.. Surprisingly enough she was a very hearty, lovely girl. I cant wait to get my boy a Pyr.

  31. Our Great Pyreneese dog Lusha in Florida is turning 14 years this month in a week. Is she the oldest Pyreneese? I hope not but I feel like it. We have a lot of problems but she is still hanging in quite fine.

  32. 'Beau' was born July 10th 1997. He is slowing down, but still walks once a day. His hips are weakening some and he still has an appetite.
We have no idea what it will be like when he's gone. Pyrs are truly the best dogs.
