Tea With Susie and Me.................

I love Tablescape Thursdays and I love Susan's new format on her blog......
for showcasing all the participants
with little pictures along with their links....
stop over and see all the other beautiful tablescapes....My "table" came to me today by the magic of
Facebook
After almost 45 years I was able to re-connect to an old
school friend from Jersey....
Susie and I were good buds back in the 60's
but after high school we lost touch.....

So your wondering what does this have to do with a Tablescape?
Well......Sue started reading my blog and she saw how I
Have a Love for all things
Dishes....

Being a very kind person....
she was out one day doing what we all love to do best....
flea market shopping
when she came across
a whole set
of
sandwich plates and matching tea cups.....
And guess who became of the new owner of this beautiful
Set....

ME!!!!!
Thank you Susie for thinking of me!!

How pretty is this.....

I love the scalloped edges of the plate and the
soft gray color of the tea cups...

wanting to use this wonderful set in a tablescape
I came up short on accessories....
I brought out my bent willow furniture
and then went next door to
Neighbor Necie's for her assistance....
Where she provided the cute little birdhouse.....the vase and flowers.....the goblet...
and the napkins...
I did have my little $5.00 quilt that I found while thrift shopping with
Joyce....

But Necie provided most everything else...
Thank you Necie!!
Aren't these flowers pretty...
I flipped when I unwrapped the box and found these...
Susie sent me three sets!

I think those beautiful green goblets came from
Old Time Pottery...
Denise correct me if I'm wrong....
I got the white teapot at Williams Sonoma on the clearance table...
I love the quilt.....I still can't believe I only paid five dollars for it...

the cup has a pearlized look to it...and a scalloped edge...

Friends and neighbors....
What could be better..............
Necie even provided the strawberries and brought me over a bag full....
So....thank you Necie for telling me for over 24 years that
"What's your's is Mine"
and
a Big thank you Susie for the beautiful dishes...
When I get back to Jersey we will have tea together and
talk about old times!!

  3. A perfect setting for a late spring cuppa tea.

The goblets are Libbey from Old Time Pottery. I wanted some tea glasses that were pretty but would survive a house full of young men with ADHD(my son and his friends). These glasses are tough.

The vase is from Pottery Barn clearance shelves. I found it(and 2 larger vases just like it) when you dragged me to a table top decorating class. Even got an extra 10% off for going to their class. Thanks Sue!

  18. Hi Sue it's me Claudie from "the pink party" over at Mrs. Magpie's. I really liked the boots too.
Just wanted to thank you for popping in to say hello. I'm very honoured.
You see I know you through CC from Catherine de thé cups from GA. CC was one of Julie and I's special stops on our way to Fla. She is sooooo wonderful. I've loved her for over a year. I also met Debbie from Plate Addict. We had so much fun, the post I did on our visit was a hoot.
Aren't friends and neighbours the best Sue? Yours seem just perfect. Love your quilt. I also just found one yesterday, double, hand made, for only 14.00. It's nicely "broken in" just the way I like em'.
Love your Tea with Susie and Me post.
Thanks again for coming over all the way up here in Canada : )
    Love Claudie

  28. Oh Sue ... so sweet -- the dishes, the accessories, AND the story about reconnecting with your old Jersey friend. How wonderful.

I'll bet those dishes are made by Harkerware, aren't they? I have plain, darker green ones, same luncheon style with the cups and squared-off plates. LOVE the flowers on yours!

    Jersey girls rock.
