Say a prayer today for Morty Franks family. My son wore his hand me down suits for years and when Morty perished in the tower that sunny day my son joined the Army and now puts on an army suit in memory of his pal Morty. I can't even post about this and our family has been crying all week. It is like a huge scab on our heart that gets pulled off every year. We all now know the meaning of the term "Living Nightmare". Ironic how it is raining tears in NYC today. Joyce
In the evening of September 10th, my brother in law received a phone call from his boss. He didn't need to go to the Trade Towers for the presentation on the 11th. Another man was taking his place.
My brother was packing up tools here in Ontario Canada, to head to New York that day. His company installs windows in highrises and they had just got a big job. I left work and we watched the second plane hit on tv together. I will never forget.
Things happen for a reason... we all know that. How lucky that H decided to come home at that particular time. A very good friend from back home lost her one brother in-law as he was a NYC firefighter, never found him. It was a day I don't think any of us will ever forget.
What a relief it must have been to have 'daughter' home that day. Just think how your life would have changed if she had been in NY. What a blessing, but a reminder for us to remember all of those those that were there. Sally
Never forget...I dread this day every year...the friends we lost...the near misses..my son was in Logan airport that morning sched to fly out...hours before we knew if he was on that plane..still remember the sick feeling, they had just had their first child....(they have 4 now :) And so many kids here who lost their parents..a horrific day for the US...
Daughter got a call on Wednesday at 4:00 a.m. from our home town Police Force..... It seems the "Big Boss" called them after seeing women in his closet and a dead man hanging from his Ceiling Fan.... Only Problem.......He doesn't have any ceiling fans in his house... Daughter...... having to make the decision what to do with him.....since we were home in Georgia sound asleep....and unable to hear even a bomb go off... Had the police take him to the local hospital...... Now the BB is heading towards 90 in a few months.... He lives alone and still drives.... We have been trying to get him into an Assisted Living Home for the past three years... He refused to budge.... He refused to let anyone into the house.. We also tried to get him to give up his license....to no avail.... The sad part is we could not get anyone to assist us... His doctor told us years ago that he was a grown man and we couldn't tell him what to do.... So back to the ER this Wednesday he was checked ...
I hadn't done a Tablescape in awhile so last week I put together a table design I was going to call "Lobster For Two" Getting out from hiding all my lobster related plates and cups and such..... I layed down layers of newspaper as my table covering......propped up my favorite Maine license plate and took lots of pictures....For some reason after taking the shots I promptly put everything back where they came from...I usually keep the table set for a couple of days to enjoy the tablescape but this time I didn't......You know the old saying... "Everything happens for a reason" This is how my table looks when not set.....I have since added 2 more chickens to the coop and gave them all lovely names.... There was Charlotte and Maude.....Maxine and Millie.... Notice I say "there was"..... A preview of what my "Lobster for Two" table looked like.....All I have to say is Boy am I glad something made me put all the dishes and glassware and stuf...
Who doesn't love "House Hunters".....you get to sit back and see inside people's homes....you get to see different style houses in different parts of the country and the best part......how the houses are decorated.....It's virtual house shopping......Well me and the Boss have turned this into an art... Not by choice......it has just happened.... We live in Atlanta but as everyone knows we would love to move back to the "Motherland" New Jersey We know.....who would want to actually move to N.J. but as you also know that's where daughter and Miss B reside..... We have been looking at homes for years now......some of you know why we haven't made the move yet and it's just too wacky for the rest of you to understand.... Let's just say it's a timing thing....... Anyhoo ..... everytime we visit Jersey we like to see what's on the market and we are very lucky to have a wonderful realtor who knows the situation and is perfectly fine with...
