Way back in April I was sitting next to the "Boss" on the couch and as I glanced over at him I thought I was hallucinating.......or maybe in need of glasses....I thought I actually saw 3 of him.... What I actually saw was his head on the body of Chef Paul Pruhomme from New Orleans......complete with sitting on one of those "Little Rascals"......You know the thingie that you have to ride around in when your too fat to walk....Not that I'm implying that Chef Prudhomme might not have some type of disability.... When did this man that I lived with for 39 years swell up to the size that could get you a spot in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade? We were visiting daughter in Jersey.......oh sure....hard seeded rolls with Taylor Pork Roll....Stewart's Drive In.....White Diamond Burgers.....we were both eating ourselves into oblivion..... When he consented to this picture below.....Please don't get scared.....and he promised that as soon as we returned to Georgi...

Okay.....I'm 45 minutes into the new season of Top Chef and all I have to say is Did they pick the contestant/Chefs according to how many tattoos they have? I thought I was tuning into "Miami Ink" for a quick minute..... And I actually had to ask the Boss "Is that a man or a women".......a few times.... I did think the Tat on Michael....one of the competing brothers was sort of cute.... that little knife and fork on his hand.... But what is with the girl (?) with the huge ink all over her chest..... And then let's not forget the "Aunt Jemima" get-up on one of the ladies.... She looks like Rosie O'Donnell high on Pancake Syrup... Why all the lip thingies??? I think I may be rooting for Mattin and Hector.....shouldn't a good chef have some kind of accent? Take Wolfgang Puck.....great accent. Then so far the food has me shaking my head.... Bacon donuts with beer and chocolate sauce.....Oh yes, that will win you top prize.... And last but not ...

What happens when you take two crazy bloggers......two Nikon camera's....and no shame..... You have me and Joyce from "Flour Power" taking a cooking class at the Viking Cooking School in downtown Atlanta and trying our best not to be thrown out for causing a disturbance.... When you get two Italians from N.Y/N.J. who love to cook you can expect things not to be reserved and lady like..... At the drop of a hat one of the two us had camera in hand while the other one posed like we were on one of those reality model shows..........I'm sure driving the other participants and the chef crazy..... At one point Joyce got something greasy on the lens of her husbands new camera and I did see some panic..... it came right off...........luckily I was able to get off the bit of flour from the camera strap of the Boss' fancy schmancy D-200 The theme of the class was "From Farm to Table'' Using fresh seasonal fruits and veggies.... Daughter lives directly off of Rt. 1 up in Jersey and travels on it daily......a highway filled with lunatics you take your life in your hands driving on it......last week we were driving over to Wegmans to do some food shopping and someone driving at a high rate of speed came up on daughter from behind then cut her off...... Not one to be timid daughter blew her horn and shouted out one of many infamous Jersey curse words...... And then we heard it....... A loud "little" voice".......yelling at the height of her toddler capacity......from the back seat..... "COLD MILK" Yes......Miss B was putting in her two cents to the crazed driver of the other car.....shouting her disapproval at cutting off her mother...... the question is..... Is she in training to be your typical "Jersey Driver"...... or is she trying to turn the highways of Jersey into a kinder gentler place to drive.....

When ever I go back to the "Motherland" I always try to catch up with some of the girls.....Usually having a lunch or dinner with one or two of the ladies from high school days....This time it was a true mini reunion....Two of these lovely ladies I had not seen in over 40 years!! Now that's a reunion...... Sandy....Jan....Me...Gayle.....Marlene and Cheryl.....aka. Nunze. Met up for dinner one night while I was in town.....Nunzie requested a quite spot so we could sit for hours and reminisce about our crazy days at Rahway High....Class of 68' What we got was just the opposite.....We found ourselves at a tiny very loud Italian restaurant where you couldn't even here yourself think.......Poor Marlene......Poor Marlene Hell, she was the one that suggested the place.....missed 90% of the evenings conversation as the waiter kept asking her to move her seat over another 6" so he could pass thru.....by nights end she was almost sitting on Gayle's lap! Back from 3 weeks in Jersey with daughter and Miss B it was too hot here today in Georgia to do anything but to be inside in air conditioning.......so today at 1:00 I did something I never do...... Leaving the Boss well fed and at home I went up to the corner movie theater to see "Julie and Julia"..... Never before a fan of Julia Child I did become interested in her life after reading her book "My Life in France"....... It was very entertaining reading about her living in France during the early years.....I also had read the Julie Powell book at the suggestion of daughter so I just had to see the movie.........The place was packed with people getting in from the heat...it was 97 degrees outside.........and at the end of the movie the whole place applauded......which always kills me.....What exactly are you applauding? Anyhoo.....the movie was half the early years of Julia and the other half was Julie Powell's blog cooking her way through Julia's French cook...

Anybody that is a reader of this blog knows that we are one wacky family.....and we always have strange things happening to us.... I never embellish....or add anything extra to make these stories more interesting... They usually just include me and the Boss......you add to the mix the daughter and our hi-jinx get kicked up a notch.... Well..... daughter is in town with Miss "B" so it's no surprise that last evening events put us into a whole new category.......... Father and daughter decided to take in a late flick after Miss "B" went to bed...leaving Grandma home to babysit.....They are big movie fans.....me not so much...All was going well...... baby was sleeping peacefully so around midnight I went to bed...... Daughter wakes me up from a dead sleep around 2:00 a.m. to tell me this was found in the SSR outside of the open all night Walmart up in Woodstock SEE PICTURE BELOW........ THIS IS NOT A STUFFED ANIMAL..... Yes......you're looking at a real live ba...
