ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN.......BOO....8/23/1998 TO 9/30/2010

OUR BOO.....
AUGUST 23, 1998 - SEPTEMBER 30 2010
It is a sad day in our house today....
We took Boo to the kennel yesterday and he collapsed as we took him out
of the car...
We brought him back home and he spent a peaceful night eating
cherry ice cream and lots of cookies....
We took him to the Vet this morning and he
passed away peacefully at 9:15....
We love you Boo and we will Miss You.....

This.....That....and the Other.

Before I leave for the big trip back to the Motherland....
I thought I would leave you with a few
"Sue-isms"
You know....just a few things in my wacky life...
Seen while driving the other day down Shallowford Road...
One big cloud hiding the sun....

Saw this movie over the weekend....
It was the Boss' treat as he was home watching Sunday Football....
He even sprung for the nacho combo with large drink...
Cute movie....
Betty White had all the best one liners....She's a real hoot....
but the best scene in the whole movie was when the
brides ex-fiance comes to the rehearsal dinner and gets up to give a toast....
Priceless....
Jamie Lee Curtis is not aging well.....lots of wrinkles....
and Sigourney Weaver was looking fine until she fell into a pool and got her face and hair wet....
Not a good look for her....
Don't race to see this one but it's certainly worth renting when it when it comes out on DVD....

Bruster's makes the finest
Key Lime Pie ice cream....
Complete with clumps of graham cracker crumbs....
I was thrilled when we pulled away from the drive through to find that the girl included
a Spoon!

Last week I found myself almost purchasing this magazine.....
I was mesmerized....

And then I came home to find the Boss babying the Boo....
He said he was complaining of Cold Paws...

But not before stopping at Tuesday Morning and standing in the aisle with another
women with us both wondering what in the world this was??
I finally could stand it no longer...I went and got the cashier...
It seems it's for "shots"...
Okay I don't drink....the other lady didn't drink....
we still found it fascinating....
The cashier said they sell tons of them....
I don't know about that....this and two others were on clearance...

And as the week went on things got worse....
Do you really want to see your hairstyle being sold as a Wig at the Wal-Mart for
Halloween....

So that's the "This and That"
And now for the Other....

I went to see the foot specialist today at the encouragement of
daughter....
It seems my right foot joints are collapsing....
Yes.......you heard that right....
I have a collapsing foot...
That's something you don't hear of too often...
More tests will be done to find out why but in the meantime....
I figure I have too much weight resting on 60 year old feet....
So I thought it's time to go on a serious....really serious diet....
Not one to panic....
I wanted to make the most of my last day before I start tomorrow....
On the way home from the doctors office I stopped and had
two Krispy Kreme Doughnuts...
Lemon and Raspberry...
Delish!!
I brought home a Philly Cheesesteak from Jersey Mike's Subs.....
and the Boss took me out tonight for
BBQ
At Sonny's BBQ by the Big Chicken....
Where I had a fine dining experience of 1/2 BBQ Chicken.....Baked Beans...
Fries.....2 pieces of Garlic Texas Toast and a large Tea....

Tomorrow.....Let the Dieting Begin!!!

Turkey Sundried Tomato Feta Meatloaf..........

We are not big meatloaf fans
But on our recent trip to daughters she made
Giada's Turkey Meatloaf with Sun Dried Tomatoes and Feta Cheese.....
And it was very very good....
So good that the Boss even went back for seconds....which for the Boss is a Big Deal...
So when I got back to Georgia I had to ask her for the recipe....
And you know it has to be good because I am not a fan of ground turkey and I am even less
a fan of Feta Cheese....
Serving it the way she did with red skin mashed potatoes with Ranch Dressing and
Some more Feta......French Green beans with mushrooms....
it has now become a staple in my cooking repertoire....

And then I got a brain storm.....
I changed up the ingredients a bit and the Boss loves this version too....
I like to think of it as
"Thanksgiving All in One Dish".......

Served with my all time favorite side dish.....Red Skin Roasted Potatoes
and roasted Cauliflower with Parmesan bread crumbs....
I substituted the Sundried Tomatoes for
Dried Cranberries and instead of using fresh bread crumbs I used a box of
Herb Stuffing by Stove Top....
I am talking very very delicious....

Here is the recipe adapted from Giada's recipe....
First the Original
then My kicked up Turkey Dinner Version.....
Enjoy!!

Saute' 1/2 of a diced sweet onion in a little olive oil
Then add to...
3/4 Cup of Fresh bread crumbs
(I actually use 1 hot dog bun)
1/3 cup of chopped Italian Parsley
1/3 cup of chopped Herb Sun Dried Tomatoes in oil
2 garlic cloves....finely diced
2 eggs beaten
1/4 Cup of Olive Oil
1/2 Cup of Crumbled Feta Cheese
1/2 rough chopped fresh mushrooms
1 1/2 teas. of Kosher Salt
1/2 teaspoon coarse ground pepper
Mix all above together....
Then add....
1 pound of Ground Turkey (not breast)
Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes....
My Thanksgiving Version.....
Or for people too lazy to cook your traditional Thanksgiving Dinner...
Instead of the sun dried tomatoes and the fresh bread crumbs Add
1 full box of Herb Stove Top Stuffing....
And
1/3 cup of Dried "Craisens"....
everything else in the recipe remains the same....
Bon Apetit!!

The Boss asked if they had to "pay me" to eat that....
What can I say I love chicken livers...

We ate at South City Kitchen
And yes...this salad was as good as it looked....
That's candied pecans and chopped fresh peaches you see....
It was my attempt at dieting.....

So back to the Point of the Post.....
We talked about how much fun it would be to have a "Mini-Blogfest"
get together perhaps next September when
All this good stuff is happening...
We all have heard from alot of you lovely bloggers that you would love to come
to Atlanta.....
And we would love to have you!!
So before it's too late and Me and Joyce get exiled back to Jersey and
New York.....
